I have just read an article by Deb Russell entitled ‘Times tables in 21 days’, regarding teaching times tables to children.
The article explains just how very important tables are to children’s lives and makes the interesting and frightening point that as the maths curriculum in schools gets larger than it ever was, maths teachers do not have the time to help our children learn times tables.
As the Tables are a fundamental building block to learning maths and to being a success in school and in life this lack of time could have a very negative affect on your child’s performance.

When you create a list of times tables you will need a list of Times tables up to 10 and also a list of Times tables up to 12.
If you add just a little bit of colour to more lists of Times tables, instantly the numbers stand out and become a bit more memorable.
